“It is necessary, while in darkness, to know that there is light somewhere, to know that in oneself, waiting to be found, there is a light.”
We are extremely fortunate to have in our possession a small batch of original, near mint greeting cards printed by the Congress of Racial Equality in 1971.
Each card, measuring 6.5” and 5.25”, is unused and includes its original envelope.
“Sister and Brother” by prolific printmaker Irving Amen is featured, along with a quote by James Baldwin on the inside.
A scarce find which serves a important relic of civil rights in the 1970s, while appealing to enthusiasts of Irving Amen.
