“No human being had witnessed the act, and he was cocksure that no higher power existed to see it; but for all that it worried him. Memories are not dead things, but alive; they dwindle in disuse, but they harden and develop in all sorts of queer ways if they are being continually fretted.”

1928 edition of the magazine launched in 1894 with its yellow cover controversially chosen as a not so subtle nod to the yellow covers of French erotic fiction. This edition of prose, poetry, and illustrations contains contributions from W. B. Yeats, Henry James and H. G. Wells, among others. Bookseller stamp of once historic The Norman Remington Company of Baltimore affixed to back end papers.
